My Role
Junior designer on the design team working closely with marketing, product, and development.
Overview
As a junior designer at Rescale I worked 60% on marketing design tasks and 40% on product design projects. I created a design system, updated the style guide, designed custom icons, built various social media / presentation / document / ebook / PDF templates, designed website hero and blog imagery, helped tweak website pages, created many design assets for multiple trade shows and events, helped with small video editing and animation tasks, managed projects on a task board.
RESCALE DESIGN SYSTEM
I lead the project, with help from the design team, to create and define the company's design system. This included many UI elements such as buttons, drop downs, text fields, search bars, check boxes, radio buttons, tool tips, toggles, menus, tabs, tags, tables, lists, cards, notifications, containers, drawers, icons, and more. These components were organized and stored in a shared Figma file where I turned them into usable assets to make the process of creating mockups more efficient and cohesive for the team. I also worked with the development team to begin linking main elements into Storybook to create assets the team could use across company sites and applications. I documented each UI item's different states, defined its usage, and recorded its details (including hex numbers, padding, fonts, etc.). This was my favorite project I worked on while with the company.

BRANDING, SOCIALS, & TEMPLATES
During my time at Rescale, I updated the company's brand guide for 2022 using a new slide template I helped create. I added new colors, gradients, fonts, typography usage, imagery & illustration guides, patterns/textures, and more to the guide. I also created multiple templates including Google Slides, business cards, eBooks, Google Docs, and various PDFs. I worked with marketing to design many company social media templates, posts, & advertisements, primarily on LinkedIn, using Illustrator, Photoshop, InDesign, & Figma. These templates helped many teams across the company ship collateral faster.

TRADE SHOWS & EVENTS
Rescale participated in and held many events from 2021-2023, and we created many design assets for each event. Each included a variety of different design tasks such as creating custom slide templates & slide cleanups, one-pager documents, PDF packets, posters, postcards, social posts, advertisements, email banners, pull-up banners, and video thumbnails. While I created the designs, marketing handled the copy and printing for most of these tasks.
